A WORD FROM THE DIRECTOR

Hi, I’m Bronwyn Jensen! I have been a professional in the music industry since 2018, but developed a passion for singing long before that. I performed in BYU Noteworthy from 2016-2018; was the Southwest Producer for the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella from 2019-2025; have arrangements featured on Varsity Vocals’ Best Of High School A Cappella in 2023 and 2024; and more. But no matter the accomplishments, my passion and drive in this industry has always come from working with people. Your friends, your kids, you! Humans are what makes music beautiful. With that in mind, I wanted to design a group that was for the students. Yes, we will learn awesome arrangements, perform fun choreography, and record an incredible EP—but my primary goal is, and always will be, the growth and well-being of my students.

So this group is for them. My hope is that it will be a space where they feel safe enough to be themselves, try new things, and make mistakes. I hope to challenge them and encourage them to challenge themselves. We will cultivate healthy vocal habits while expanding our musical knowledge and performance skills. Together, we will build a group where singers are valued not just for their voices, but for their ideas, energy, personalities—their whole selves.

With love,
Bronwyn Jensen

LOGISTICS

Commitment

Teen Choir is a group that will run from September 2025 to May 2026. Fall semester will focus on growing as a group and learning our music. Spring semester will focus on recording and becoming performance-ready. If you have concerns about being able to commit for a full year, please email Bronwyn at [email protected].

Rehearsals & Schedule

Teen Choir will rehearse weekly starting the week of September 15th. Rehearsals for Fall Semester will be on Tuesdays from 7:00 to 8:15pm at The Ultimate Dance Experience in Saratoga Springs. There will not be any additional group rehearsals during the Fall, but students will be expected to spend time outside of rehearsal practicing the songs.

Spring semester will have time commitments in addition to weekly rehearsals. We will have recording days, as well as an end-of-year concert. Please be flexible and prepared for a few added days!

Tuition

Teen Choir is tuition-based and will be $150 per month. The first month will be due on September 15th, after which tuition will be due on the first of each month.

September 15th: $125 due ($75 tuition, $50 registration fee)

October 1st: $150 due

etc.

Tuition is calculated to cover the costs of song production, concerts, etc. so that there are no additional costs for you or your student—however, production costs are often fluid and hard to calculate exactly. If there are any additional costs that are not met by the monthly tuition, they will be met by fundraising.

If you have financial concerns, please email me at [email protected]!

FAQs

Why doesn’t the teen choir have a name yet?

This group is meant to be a true collaboration between director and students! Once the group is formed, all of the singers will choose the name together.

Do I have to have a cappella experience?

Not at all! I anticipate there being multiple students who have never sung a cappella before, and that’s okay! As long as you come ready to learn a new style of ensemble singing, you’ll do great.

What happens if I have to drop out in the middle of the year?

Short answer: Nothing. Ideally, we will have students who are able to commit for the full year, and I ask you not to commit to the group unless you plan to commit for the whole year. But I completely understand that things happen, and so if an unforeseen circumstance arises, we will miss you, and we hope you still come to the end-of-year concert!

What if I don’t know my voice part?

That’s totally normal. Most people’s voices fluctuate a lot in their teen years anyway, so I try to avoid pigeon-holing people into one part. I will work with you and the rest of the group to make sure that everyone is singing a part that they’re comfortable with.

Do I have to live in Saratoga Springs?

Nope! That is simply where we will rehearse. As long as you can find a way to weekly rehearsals, it doesn’t matter where you live.
